Summary[]
The King Ranking, the world's kings are ranked based on various conditions, such as having an entourage of many renowned knights, the prosperity of the towns and the wealth of its people, and above all else, experience and prowess in battle.
As Bojji cries on his mother's lap over bullying, she comforts him and promises he'll be the strongest king in the world.
In the Kingdom of Bosse, the King has fallen ill. His oldest son, Bojji, is deaf and considered incompetent by the populace while Bojji's younger half brother, Daida, is feared for his swordsmanship and is more favored for the throne.
As Bojji plays throughout the kingdom, he notices Kage dragging a large bag. He spots Bojji and attempts to rob him, but he reveals that he can read lips but can't hear or answer. Bojji gives him his clothes and agrees to return with more expensive clothing. Bojji walks through town in only his underwear and crown. He is noticed by Dormas who questions him but is ignored.
Bojji repeats the process of wearing expensive clothes, traveling to meet Kage, and walking back to his home in only underwear for several days. After several days, Kage began to take a special interest in Bojji and follows him secretly as he walks back to the castle barely clothed.
