Humans are the current dominant species in the world of Ousama Ranking. They are the inheritors of many of the Gods' kingdoms, as well as founders of numerous kingdoms of their own.
Appearance[]
Humans superficially resemble both the Gods and Giants, but are typically much smaller and tend to have more varied body types with less-severe facial features.
History[]
Humans first discovered sorcery in the Houma Kingdom
The origins of humanity are unclear, but they appear to have been servants and slaves to the Gods from a very early date. This would begin to change with the discovery of sorcery by the Houma Kingdom, which quickly developed into a credible threat to the Gods' rule.
Ultimately the Gods would achieve a decisive victory over the mages of the Houma Kingdom, but the rebellion would forever change humanity's relationship with the Gods. Sensing this, most of the Gods willingly gave up their rule, secluding themselves and leaving humans as one of the many species to inherit the earth.
Humanity has flourished since the disappearance of the Gods, and human-lead/human-aligned kingdoms control most of the overworld, as well as the entire known Underworld.
Offspring[]
Humans are able to interbreed with at least two other species, Gods and Giants. The offspring of both unions are hybrids who exhibit superhuman characteristics from a young age, and exhibit human rationality.
Though they don't seem to grow as powerful as their Godly or Giant parent, human hybrids appear to be significantly stronger than baseline humans.

Adaptability[]
Humans exhibit extreme environmental adaptability relative to other races, a trait that has allowed them to flourish and spread across the world. Humans can be found in nearly every climate, including deep in the Underworld.
Latent Potential[]
Dorshe of the Bosse Kingdom exhibits superhuman strength
Select human specimens are capable of vastly exceeding human limitations, exhibiting superhuman strength, resilience, and speed. Dorshe of the Bosse Kingdom in particular is a remarkably powerful human who exhibits strength rivaling a Gigantes.
Humans are also capable of mimicking and to some extent adapting the abilities of other races. Domas of the Bosse Kingdom has developed a devastating sword style based on the physical power of Bosse, a giant who is many times stronger than any human.
Magic[]
Queen Hilling of the Bosse Kingdom is a human with innate bloodline magic
Humans are the only race besides Gods known to wield magic. The origins of human sorcery are largely unknown, save that it was discovered by the humans of the Houma Kingdom. Human mages are said to be able to rival the power of the Gods.
Some humans exhibit innate magic as well. Queen Hilling of the Bosse Kingdom has displayed extremely powerful restorative magic, which appears to be passed down through her bloodline, and has been inherited by her half-giant son Daida.
