Monsters are a highly-divergent collection of species in the world of Ousama Ranking.
Unlike other species, the term "monster" appears to be a catchall for a variety of creatures, some intelligent and others closer to wild animals. It is unclear why they are grouped in spite of wildly divergent levels of intelligence and appearance.
Appearance[]
Monsters' appearance can vary wildly from subspecies to subspecies, but in general most intelligent Monsters are humanoid, but with much more variety in stature, skin color, and facial structure than Humans. Fangs and pointed ears are common traits amongst most monster subspecies.
Feral monsters share physical traits with wild animals, but tend to have more extreme features.
History[]
Very little is known about the history of Monsters, save that the intelligent ones also appear to have been servants and slaves to the Gods, much like Humans. Strangely, in spite of this, intelligent Monsters do not appear to have joined the human rebellion against the Gods, and appear absent from the final battle of the Houma Kingdom.
Monsters live alongside humans and appear to have full citizenship in the Underworld
Monsters of all varieties appear to be most concentrated in the Underworld, suggesting they are its native inhabitants. Most intelligent monsters live alongside humans in the Underworld, where they appear to enjoy full citizenship, but at the notable cost of never being allowed to migrate to the surface. The Underworld kingdom will execute any intelligent Monster that escapes to the surface, sometimes pursuing them for years after escape.
Feral Monsters appear to be native to the overworld as well
At least one subspecies, the Gigantes, prefer to live apart from humans, and inhabit tribal settlements in the Underworld's countryside. The countryside is also the native territory of feral monsters, like vultures and hellhounds.
Feral monsters also appear to be native to the overworld, with at least one massive feral monster inhabiting the forest between the Bosse Kingdom and the Underworld.

Gigantes[]
Gigantes are an intelligent Monster subspecies resembling massive orcs
The Gigantes are a type of intelligent monster native to the Underworld. They resemble gigantic, green-skinned orcs and wield incredible strength. They prefer to live away from the Underworld kingdom, in more rural tribal settlements in the countryside.
During Desha's rebellion the Gigantes made up the bulk of Satun's forces. They are known for their close familial bonds, which were exploited during the rebellion to deal a decisive blow against them.

The mating habits of intelligent Monsters are unknown. It's unknown if they can crossbreed with other species as well.
Feral monsters appear similar to wild animals. Hellhounds have been depicted raising pups.
