Ousama Ranking (王様ランキング, Ōsama Rankingu) is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name by Sousuke Tooka. The anime premiered October 2021 on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block and was directed by Yousuke Hatta at WIT Studio.
The Ousama Ranking anime was simultaneously released in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Russian via online streaming platforms. Its title was localized as Ranking of Kings for both subtitled and dubbed English releases.
Plot[]
Bojji is a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children's sword. As the firstborn prince of the Bosse Kingdom, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world's greatest king. However, the people of the Bosse Kingdom mutter behind his back, calling him a "good-for-nothing prince" and saying there's, "no way he can be king."
Things start to change for Bojji when he makes his first ever friend, Kage - a strange little shadow on the ground who can somehow understand Bojji well. Kage, the last survivor of an infamous assassin clan, grew up isolated as well. Follow Bojji's coming-of-age as he meets new friends and begins his journey to become a King!
